Project Overview
Bawburgh Golf Club initially contacted us when they were constructing their new wedding and events venue, Glen Lodge, as they were looking for a renewable heating option to further bolster their already impressive renewable technology portfolio.
The only criteria given for the renewable heating solution was that it had to provide space heating and integrate with the new underfloor heating system being installed as part of the construction. This, of course, was no issue for our team of experts.
Solution
First off, our team decided that an air source heat pump would be the ideal way to go for this particular job. By installing a state of the art Viessmann Vitocal 200-A Air source heat pump to the exterior and interior of the building, we were able to set it up alongside the underfloor heating system meaning the two systems could work in harmony together and provide low-cost, weather-compensated space heating.
In addition to the ASHP, we installed a remote access system which can be controlled through a mobile app. This remote access enables the Facilities Manager to completely control the pump at the touch of a button, no matter where they are. The ability to turn on, turn off or adjust the heating remotely when the venue is or is not being used provides an extra level of control and an additional way to reduce heating costs.
