Project Overview
The owners of Lodge Lane holiday properties were looking for a more cost effective, renewable heating option to help them lower their fuel and overall heating costs. Their existing electric boilers were running up a very large bill at the end of each customer stay, so we knew a longer term, money saving heat pump would be the ideal choice for them.
However, the real improvement came for them as the heat pump allows the heating to be weather compensated, meaning that the flow temperature is automatically adjusted to the space heating depending on the external temperature. This gives them extra savings on fuel and better comfort levels within the properties.
Solution
To help them get the most for their money as soon as possible, we went ahead and installed 2 Viessmann Vitocal 100-A air source heat pumps, 1 per property.
The limited space for the heat pumps in the property was the first hurdle we encountered, so to rectify this, we installed external buffer vessels, which the heat pumps now sit on top of.
Our installation is not only saving them money on their bills, but has brought the property owners the freedom to control the heating from anywhere. By utilising the existing control system, the heating and hot water are able to be turned on and off as they please.
